SF-6 Gas Leakage

10/21/2010 9:05 AM

How does one figure out when there is a 1 psig loss of SF-6 gas over a 30 minute period, how many actual SF-6 pounds does this equal? This gas is a liquid under pressure and is used for arc surpression in waveguide assemblies. I guess what I am looking for is a working formula to make wieght approximations for gas leaks in the system.

Thanks,

As was suggested in you last thread, weigh the bottles as the gas is wasted.

I will add, stay along way away from the switchgear. It's your life, gas exposure, explosion, fire, the list just goes on!

PS you don't mention the volume of gas so how is anyone supposed to work out the relationship between pressure and weight?
