When to install flat closures?

What are the major differences between butt-welding cap and flat closure?

A proper butt weld Pipe Cap of the same schedule is designed to hold under the same internal Pressure and Temperature conditions as the pipe of a specific Schedule. No additional calculations are required.

A flat Plate used for an end closer will need to be calculated to insure that the thickness will hold up to the internal pressure/Temperature of the pipe system. Then you need to have a special weld that will also hold.

Use the Weld Cap, it is cheaper in the long run.
