Depending on your requirements, which you don't mention, topics to research and understand are: comparator, comparator with hysteresis, duty-cycle, limiter, and phase-locked loop.

Try an internet search of 555 and Sine Wave to Square Wave.

The good old general purpose 555 timer chip is good for most applications and the data sheets and application notes contain most if not all the theoretical calculations and information you need.

it is simply done with the help of schmitt trigger which converts sine wave in to square wave by appropriate set voltage on non-inverting terminal and sine wave is appiled to inverting terminal.
