Hi all, I need to buy a PT 6655B from Texas Instruments for a project. But I need only ONE, not more. Anybody knows where I can buy it? I live in Costa Rica.
I just loaded your part number into the TI web site and did not get a match. I suspect that you have a custom part number that TI manufactured for a specific customer. I did find a data-sheet for this hybrid package chip at Digchip.com. For a one piece order you'll have to come up with a very good story to the sales department at TI to look for a sample for you. Instead I would consider making my own hybrid that used some other switching supply buck converter topology that converted 24V to 15V with 5A of current available. There's many single chip controllers that Digikey, Newark, Mouser, Allied and a host of other small order houses can maybe help you. You are on your own though about import/export concerns to Costa Rica.

Here's what I used to do... Call TI directly and ask for a sample. TI used to be very liberal with handing out sample parts. I would tell them that I'm really interested, and "we" thought that this particular TI part might be of great help to development.
A word of caution here--Don't lay the bull shit on too thick, they can spot a phony from a mile away. You just want to make them think that you might actually be doing something interesting with their part.
Good luck.

I need this PT 6655 for the power supply of my Advantest R4131A Spectrum Analyzer (SA).
The original power supply supplied 5.2V, 12V, 15V, and -15V to the SA.
I could find a power supply with 5V, 12V, -15V and 24V output in China and it was sent to me. First I used a LM317 to change from 24 to 15V but it brakes down because it went to hot. Now I am using a LM350 with a big heatsink and an extra fan attached to it. The SA uses about 1.5A and 15V.
It works, but it don't look nice and finally, after a year o so my SA works again.
Sorry for my english, i'm better in spanish and german.
Your English is much better than my German or Spanish. You need not apologize.
Lambda power supplies make some nice DC/DC switching supplies. The link is to a Newark distributor page for a suitable 24V input 15V 2A output. I believe they do handle international orders, but you may have to consider import fees.
