Selection of Power Elctronic Devices

Could you please tell me that what are the parameters has to considered while selecting Power electronic modules such as IGBT, Thyristor and Diode for power control or conversion applications or How to select a Power modules?.

Depends on your application. Generally, transistors are used in DC applications, diodes and thyristors are used in AC applications. But all of them have specific applications in either type of system.

Thanks. But my question is what are the considerations while selecting power modules like current rating ,voltage rating or some other parameters?
