Code & Standard for Rotary Screw Air Compressor for Instrument Air

10/28/2010 11:59 PM

Dear all,

1. What is the code & standard for selecting rotary screw air compressor? Can i use API 619? Or any other code & standard for rotary screw air compressor?

2. Which one is more applicable between ISO8573.1 and ANSI/ISA-7.0.01 1996 for the standard of compressed air quality?

My compressor is for instrument air.

Thanks all..

API-619, though in principle can be used for Screw Air Compressors, is an overkill for Instrument Air applications.

You must go by the manufacturer's standard. They are very few in number anyway Atlas Copco, Howden, Boge, Ingersoll Rand etc. and who know the job best.
