MV Panels Cost

10/30/2010 4:43 AM

Dear All,

I am working in estimation field, please help me to clear my doubt in the following.

There is one MV-Panel with two incomers, one from 1600KVA Transformer and the other from 1500KVA DG. there is electro-mechanical interlock between incomers.Do that comes along with thw MV Panel ?or do we have to cost for that locking system separately?

If you specified it, they should be included in the suppliers estimate. If not, you're asking for a variation of specification along with the costs involved.

It's all down to what you asked for in the first place.

Sir,

we have given the SLD of MV-Panel to the supplier and not received thir quote yet.The problem is we have to submit our offer to main contractor ASAP.In the SLD they have shown that the incoming feeders are electro mechanically interlocked.but bus coupler is not shown.it is AMF controlled. What does that mean?Do we have to consider ATS ?

Dear Guest,

Interlocking should be specified to the supplier as it is a modification on your part. I suggest you call your supplier or email them and make this clarification. Some times suppliers need a push from their clients. Call them and ask them about the progress of your BOQ. Next time. Always make an Excel sheet while referring to the SLD. It will always help you in the future. Just call them, Thats what I would do and remember make it simple. Make an excel sheet. Will always help you. Best of Luck

DG EE.

This is the time when some smarta$$ like me asks you if you are in the right line of work.

If you are an estimator, someone (EE probably) should have provided you with a bill of materials which would clearly define what you are to estimate. This question should be directed to that person, not total strangers who, along with you, apparently, have no idea what you are doing.

I'm going along with lynlynch on this, why are you asking us instead of the supplier? They can give you the answers, we can't!

Again it comes down to what you specified in the first place.

Why don't you get competitive offers from at least three manufacturers/suppliers by giving proper specifications?.
