Cost Difference between SS 304 and 316 L

I would like to know the cost difference per pound for Stainless Steel 304 and 316L.

Exactly what cost are you talking about? The per pound cost of the raw material or the manufacturing cost, which is variable based on the method employed.

Per pound cost differential between SS304 and SS316 L. If I want to change the steel from 304 to 316 L how much it will cost for approx. 40 K # ?

It depends on the shape(s) involved and the local spot market, among other possible things. We could make a wild (or not so wild?) guess like 50% more for 316L vs 304, but it would be shooting in the dark.
