From US Imported Bed Bugs

11/05/2010 11:07 PM

Bites all- over, hitching, scratching and a lot of complaints about a severe BED BUG infestation in the resort of a friend. They live everywhere, in mattresses, between plints and walls, in furniture. Besides tenting it in and gas-killing these, is there no out of the bush remedy available to get rid of these? Who has experienced and remedied this before and how? Merci beaucoup.

These critters are common in hot countries like Pakistan. We take out infested bed/mattresses etc and keep it out in the sun. The high temperature (100F~110F) kills them.

No but they are faced more at bedtime when you getup scractching because they get into matresses, in-between corners, cracks & crevices of the bed. They are also found in furnitures etc. Here and in India no wooden floor for them to hide.

Everything put out in the sun morning till evening.Funny part is we spray kerosene only on wooden furnitures(not matress) and after 2 days out in the sun the smell of kerosene too gone. irrespective peaceful sleep.

In USA/Canada/Europe etc sun's intensity low, plus wooden floor where they hide. Apart from spraying pesticides no option.

Hold on there is one solution.Try designing a simple electronic circuit for ultrasonic frequency(using 555IC and transisters). The problem is even dogs run away from the alien device. Cheers.

Neem is a tree and very very very common. I do not know the english name. we use it in everything. Toothpaste , hair oil, face rub etc. made with neem. When we sprain our foot and it swells, we take hot water and put neem leaves and soak the foot for relief.

Yeah...I think...You should follow...

*Use lavendor around your bed frame..
*Use hot water to wash your bed sheet and clothes..
*Spread some mint leaves on the effected area..as well as whole house..
*Use the combination of rapeseed oil and pyrethrins..It will directly attack on the bed bugs nervous system..
*Collect more information about bed bugs.. Bed Bugs pictures will be helpful...
