If your grid-connected induction generator gets disconnected from the grid, won't the line current = 0 ?

Most common means of islanding detection is by voltage and frequency relays. Usually once disconnected from the grid, the voltage and/or frequency will vary outside of fairly strictly-established limits that the utility expects to maintain, and the relays trip the generator breaker.
