part of the bias is in the Boot ROM and part of it in Operating system file command.com and it also can reside in overlay files and added device drivers. System has CCP, Bios and DOS.

Sorry this is ridiculous.

Boot program has three parts

CCP - Console command processor which uses bios and DOS

BIOS - Basic I/O

DOS - Disk OS which uses bios

Boot ROM is on main CPU board. Its part number and contents will differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. It may be 27256 EPROM or 27512 or higher version.

It is also a system file command.com to next level. Command.com is there in DOS and Windows system directory area

Forget it,

First power on the system , then BOOT from the BIOS , then your 'CCP' accepts commands from input then DOS/Windows is used.

As long as You don't EXACTLY know which IC # it is .AND. you can't read/write the contents with an EPROM programmer it's useless.

Does the manufacturer of your system has a replacement ? I asked AWARD company once for an new BIOS eprom and within 48 hour I had one.

Data sheets : EPROM 27512 but is it a 'C' an 'M' , what ?

Overlay boot EPROM is in a socket and simply replacing it rather easy. It can be copied from one to another and has no data protection.

However, new systems may have configurable EEPROM for which contents can be modified.

It is a very simple program of treading keyboard, display of monitor and reading disk contents into memory, usually for boot track. Real bios is in the system.

Before I forget it.

the Binary files themselves of the BIOS are © (Copyright) by Intel® and IBM®

So from me you wouldn't get them anyway.
