Hydraulic Accumulators are very simple devices...proper sizing and selection can vary based upon the application.

What type of application are you look at? Energy storage? Surge Suppression? Pulation dampening?

This might be a resource you can use http://www.accumulators.com/applications.html It has a spreadsheet that can be used for your students for calculations and other related application data.
