Where Does Everyone Work?

11/11/2010 2:46 PM

I was wondering which sectors of the economy does everyone work in. Oil/gas? Food processing? Utilities?

What are your duties? Whats your position? How do you like your job?

Thanks,

Jeremy

A presumptuous first post for a member.

Well, OK. I will start you off. In the order of your questions:

1) I work in industrial construction supply.

2) I sell doors and doorknobs.

3) I sell doors and doorknobs.

4) The squeaky hinge gets the grease. I have to squeak a lot.

I am interested to see the answers DVader and Rorschach will provide you.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day
(He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day)
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavat'ry
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And have buttered scones for tea
(He cuts down trees...)
(He's a lumberjack...)
I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I love to press wild flow'rs
I put on women's clothing

[ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/im-a-lumberjack-lyrics-monty-python.html ]

And hang around in bars
(He cuts down trees...)
(He's a lumberjack...)
I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papar
(He cuts down trees...)
(He's a lumberjack...)

  1. Industry - Aerospace (specifically flight simulation)
  2. Duties (too many to list) but basically responsible for top level design during the initial design phase of proposals and projects.
  3. Position (title) is System Architect
  4. How do I like my job? Well they have to pay me to show up.....but in general it's a very good job and a good company to work for.

Retired from engineering and presently manage Jolly Ali's cathouse.

We are running short on girls so if you wish employment you can work things out by hand if necessary.

But if you are thinking of going - don't ask for Russ. They made him manager because he's complete rubbish at the "hands on" part.

Sorry, this thread was suppose to end up in the Instrumentation section and as part of my career investigation I was tying to find out which industries everyone was in so I could get a better picture of what the job was like in different settings.

Oil/gas? Food processing? Utilities?

None of the above: I'm in the military. I do have special interest in the water and wastewater industry though, mostly because I grew up on the desert shithole of Tatooine.

What are your duties?

Internal security, counter-terrorism, fighting the enemies of the Empire, hunting down and slaughtering Jedi Knights.

Whats your position?

Supreme Commander of the Imperial Special Forces, The Grand Army of the Empire.

How do you like your job?

Well, I get to kill everyone I hate, so it does have its privileges. And that includes nosy people who ask dumb questions like this one.
