Hot Billet Shearing

11/16/2010 11:13 PM

Dear sir,

I had sent my query on the above subject on 10th Nov 2010 and have not yet received any reply. Or probably I am not able to locate the answers if any from your website.

My query was related to "force required to cut hot stainless steel billet 100x100mm square by shearing" and was dated 10th November 2010

Thanks

Arun Pandit

Estimated shear strength of 50,000 psi x (4"x4") = 800,000 lb = 400 tons; also depends on the maximum thickness the shear can handle.
