What is Name, Code of the Pump

11/17/2010 7:29 AM

Good day sir.

I got the problem with my PUMP. I don't know the name of manufacture or model code of the pump. But I am sure this is the piston axis pump, diameter of piston maybe 25 mm.the number of piston are 9. The inlet port is larger than outlet port. The rotation of pump is clockwise.

The swash plate is control by mean of hydarulic, but I don't know how exact it does. And the situation is:

At first, the pump done well

After, when the pressure is about 50 bar, oil has gone to tank by drain line.not go in the outlet line of the pump. So the pressure gradual decrease.

Please help me to tell the name, code of the pump. And what problem with my pump. Thanks you very much.

I think you're going to have to do a little paint stripping and cleaning. There should at least be some kind of number stamped into the body. This will give you a starting point. Don't forget the bottom. You may have to use a mirror to get a visual.

Is that writing on the round piece in the center right of first picture?

If you can find the manufacturer of the entire unit, they should be able to help with pump identification and parts.

This appears as 'Rotary Piston, Axial - Swash Plate Pump'.

The shown pump appears to be much use up, right? Hope this problem should have developed recently or from the commissioning? Or after any maintenance activity?

These type of pumps have 'hydraulically activated swash plate'. The tilt of swash plate would result in adjusting/varying the flow from zero to max.

You have indicated, "After, when the pressure is about 50 bar, oil has gone to tank by drain line. not go in the outlet line of the pump. So the pressure gradually decreases". This leads to suspect the mal-operation of the hydraulic system meant for swash plate operation. Unintentionally if the swash plate is tilted to zero angle, the out put also will be zero.

Dear ,

I have some experience of this type of pump,as i understand there may be -

1. Improper clearance between plunger and its housing which leads to more oil in drain at higher pressure.

2.Swash plate may not be lapped properly which leads to oil leakage from there , as you may be knowing whenever plunger makes forward movement, there is some oil leakage from the plunger end to the swash plate which lubricate the swash plate, but if lapping is not perfect ,then chances of oil leak in more quantity in drain possible.

3.There may be problem with pressure controlling devise which leads to higher oil leak at higher pressure, but this will be clear as swept volume indicator will show higher value , may be more than 70 percent, normally when pump is healthy then it should run at 20-30 percent.

If you want any nore details ,you may contact vendor which is in this type of pump, in my knowledge M/S DENIOSON is one of the most reputed company in this field.

Thanks

These types of pumps were used in car air-conditioning systems, belt driven with an electro-magnetic clutch. Used to be called swash plate pumps or rotary pumps - on account of the plate movement.
