BID Awards: Your Views?

One of my friend run a small business and receive a letter from the business initiative Directions Spain Madrid, asking them to collect there gold category award on May 28th in New York,

Before taking any decision to go to New York he want to know about the international rating of the award, is this just a run of the mill award or dose is give some value to recipient.

Views different corner are welcome,

I've heard about them and they seem to be highly respected world-wide. The effect of an award, big or small, depends on the people receiving it. If a father gets a real boost out of getting "Best Dad Award" from his sons, it doesn't matter if the whole world doesn't know.

The BID, however, is not a small award, though it's not as famous as the Nobel, the Oscars, or other awards. It's a recognition of your efforts towards quality. It's something that you can put in a prominent place in the factory or office and show people, "we're doing it right".
