Something else, perhaps ?

A Mag Drive pump is a type of sealless pump that utilizes a magnetic coupling to create a static shaft seal. Magnetic force aligns the outer magnet (drive magnet) and inner magnet (driven magnet) through a stationary containment shell (canister). This eliminates the hazards and mess caused by packing or mechanical seal failure.
