Sampling 11kva lines

11/26/2010 4:44 AM

Hello,

I want to know whether all the three 11kva lines are ok or not, for this I have to saple the 11kva lines before the transformers.

I really appreciate any help in this regard, Do we have any standard circuit for this or we have to design from basic.

Thank you

Dear student,

first, 11 kV or 11kva ?

please find out a power system book and read it. It covers all topics how to design with calculations.

11kV is not considered as transmission lines...It is primary distribution.....what is your question? sampling of 11kV lines??...cut a piece from the line for sample...be careful about smoke from your body

Your 11kV distribution lines can be "sampled" using voltage (instrument) transformers with primary rated for your 11kV lines and secondary at 115V. The secondary goes to a meter or a voltage relay, that can indicate whether the circuit is above or below the minimum acceptable level.
