Autocad Lt 2000 Autorization Issues

03/22/2007 9:27 AM

I am open for suggestion. I bought AutoCAD Lt 2000, in the year of 2000, recently I got my computer upgraded, I try to reload the software and I couldn't for the reason I don't have the authorization code which was on the package, we moved three times since 2000 and I have no idea where the original package is. I contacted the place where I got the software and they gave me web address but I haven't heard from them. I retired in 2001, and I still would like to use the software, but I do not want to buy a new one. Anybody have any ideas or have one for sale reasonably priced.

Thank you.

Gabe

I have had a similar issue with 2006 and was able to contact AutoDesk and received assistance in activating my copy. This of course is dependant on the software being fully registered.

Web support from AutoDesk is not as good as I would like it but contacting them by phone has never been an issue for me.

Best of luck.

I do not think Autodesk is supporting LT 2000 anymore, they would like you to upgrade.

You probally need the CD key and serial number.

Gabe:

I too have had trouble trying to get an authorization code for an old version of AutoCad2000. Autodesk was no help: they only wanted to sell me the latest and greatest. Start with them as suggested but then you may want to check with www.aug.com, which stands for AutoCad users group. Join the (it's free, or used to be), post your dilemma and I'll bet they have a solution. It's worth a shot.

Don't know if this apply or not, but when I install and registered my AutoCad LT 2007, it told me that they kept a copy of my "activation key" so if I ever lost it, they can alway re-active me. You may want to ask the helpdesk about this.

For future purposes, here is what I do when I install software from a CD or DVD.

I use a "SHARPIE" marker and write the "activation key" right on the CD or DVD

so that I cant loose the "activation key" without loosing the CD or DVD.

Hello Hank,

I still have my documentation (booklet with CD key) but Autodesk will still not give me a password to reinstall my AutoCADlt2000 that I bought while I was taking a course at the community college.
