USB TV Tuner

I use Linux, so my suggestions will (try to) be generic. (Also, didn't I just see this question somewhere--was it here (on CR4) or somewhere else.)

Anyway, there should be an audio mixer available in your PC. You want to find which channel of the mixer is associated with the input of the TV tuner and which is associated with the output to the PC audio system.

You should not change the volume using the mixer channel associated with the input from the TV tuner.

Instead, control the volume of the PC sound system by the mixer channel output to the PC audio system, and control the TV volume by the volume control on the LCD TV.

If the TV signal goes from the tuner through the PC to get to the LCD TV, there is a chance there is a channel in the audio mixer for the output to the TV--in that case, you can adjust the volume of the LCD TV by adjusting the volume of that channel of the mixer.

I don't have much experience doing things like this--I usually have trouble identifying which channel of the mixer is which based on the acronyms on the mixer graphic, and usually have to resort to experimenting (by adjusting the volume on one channel at a time) to determine which channel of the audio mixer corresponds to which signal.

I am connecting my pc versa vga cable to lcd tv,if i adjust volume of the tv itself the tv sound and my systems output sound also adjusted.i want to know how it can control separately the systems sound and tv channel sound.Because i want to mute the tv channel sound but only want to sound our system message sound.

When you wrote: "i adjust volume of the tv itself" do you mean you adjust the volume of the LCD TV set? If so, I'm confused, and maybe need a diagram showing how the three systems are connected.

we have brought a usb tv tuner that work in ntsc format,but in singapore we are using pal system.Possible to convert this with a converter.
