calculate the current....you already selected the cable size...so you know howmany runs are required.

Sauravbabu : where are you located? What is your technical expertise?

The table located here shows a 3 conductor CU cable 400 mm² will carry 530 amps in conduit. 530 amps at 11 kv = 10 MW. Please report back as to how many cables you will need for your project. How long is the cable installation? Will voltage drop be a problem? I am waiting for your response.

Dear Sauravbabu, 35MW at 11kV and 0.8pf would mean 2296A. If you are using 400 Sq.mm Copper cable three core cable then considering current carrying capacity of this cable as 500A then with a cable derating factor of 0.7 minimum 7 runs would be required. If the distance is long then you may have to increase number of runs.

If the Load is 2296 amps, why do you need 7 runs? 5 runs would be 2500 amps. Why would you need to derate the cable by 0.70?
