How nice of you, I think. But giving a supply to anyone for only five minutes is more of a loan than an out right gift. A true gift means that you give something away without anything expected in return. The last thing you should expect is the gift returned in five minutes. Now in about a month there will likely be a lot of re-gifting happening in Christian society. Almost all of this re-gifting will not be back to the original giver.

Now there are many different solenoids designed to work at 240V (AC?) and there are many different supplies available. Connecting some solenoids to some supplies will quickly produce a fire, activate a pollution damper, do nothing or only work for a brief period of time. Without knowing which solenoid and which supply I cannot say anything.

If your pneumatic solenoid valve is design and rated for 240V then why are you so worried to give the supply of 240V to the coil? These coil are design for continuous energizing whether for 5 minutes or 24 hours. It should not be any problem.

Unless if your solenoid valves coil is rated different voltages, then you cannot energise the coil with 240V not even for a second. It will burnt it.
