PILC Cables

I know we no longer use PILC cables in new installations, but there are still many PILC cables installed in the system. Does anyone have any technical data, dimensions etc. of medium voltage PILC cables? I've been searching on the web but only got very limited info on this. Perhaps nobody is manufacturing PILC anymore.

PILC = Paper Insulated Lead Covered

What are these cable used for?

Telecoms?

Plant instrumentation?

Power?

PILC cables are Medium Voltage (MV) "Power" cables often installed underground, especially where the ground is highly corrosive.

They ussually come as PILC SWA or PILC DSTA.

If you still wanna know more about these cables, go to www.aberdare.co.za and look for the PILC cables.
