Pipe Material Selection & Grade Selection

12/06/2010 11:44 PM

Pl. let me know the following……

For the design conditions as (4000psig@650F), Class2500 (Pipe class is intended for use in Feedwater system with design Temp less than 650F) we have used Pipe material as A 106 Gr C, Seamless. Can't we use A 53 Gr B/ A 106 Gr A/ A 106 Gr C. What is the reason behind this?

Also let me know if the Pipe Material is selected, then what are the basis for selection of different available grades?

Your thoughts are welcome.

Thanks……

The end Client's piping standards may say use a particular one although the reasoning behind it may be transparent.

If the undefined "we" has used something else, then this is classed as a f**k-up.
