The Electronic Official

12/09/2010 11:04 AM

The Electronic Official:

I have patented the concept of electronic measurement and position calculations for a football in relation to the line of scrimmage or the goal line.

No more bad ball placement, and guesswork wether its a first down or a touchdown.

I have several different options, but am willing to accept the best and final preproduction solution.

The receiver sensors will be in the down markers, in the pylons on the goal line, and above in the "field span cameras."

There are three separate ways to mount the transmitter within the ball itself.

I have yet to make a final decision.

I agree with Tornado:

I also believe the replay review is not appropriate. Such play reviews for baseball are pure blasphemy, and should not be discussed let alone considered.

Why?

Do you have a market? I doubt it.

Also, it is very unwise to publish your e-mail address and full name.

Still have the Aero Commander?

I have patented the concept of defeating any such system.

Further, I will happily liscense my technology to interested team owners in exchange for the occasional on-demand free skybox seat and a personal introduction to two team cheerleaders of my choosing.

Any transmitter that has any effect whatsoever on the ball is going to be rejected outright. I'm surprised that you would bother spending the time and money on a patent without first having a workable design.

Or we could just replace real football with this. We'd always know where the ball is.
