Using Forge Material for Tube Sheet

hello everybody

i want to now if there is a code neccesity to use forg material for heat exchangers tube sheet or as a good practice engineering we usually use it and what is the reason we are not use plate fo tube sheet.

I don't know of such a code requirement, and have seen many tubesheets made of SA516-70 plate.

I assume that you are fabricating a shell-and-tube heat exchanger.

In most of the Western world, such devices are fabricated to a set of Codes and Standards. In the USA, S&THXs are fabricated in accordance with the ASME VIII pressure vessel code.

Within that code, the acceptable materials for tube sheets are listed.

What code are you using ?

we are using ASME VIII DIV 1 and TEMA class R for designing shell &tube heat exchangers but i didnt find anything about code requirement for using forg material.
