Star Lighting

12/18/2010 2:37 AM

Hai elders, i am making astable multivibrator circuit to switch on and off 2 incandescent bulbs(40w) powered from 230V supply with relays. Does it work without any problem. Any suggestions?

Yes, two suggestions :

1) Make sure that diodes are connected across the relay coils to snuff out the flyback surges when they are turned off;

2) Limit your switching frequency to something that the relays can comfortably cope with.

success......yes it worked like charm.

connecting diode with a relay is new stuff for me and i changed the frequency replacing 10uF C with a 47uF.

i got 12V relay instead of 6V but when i checked 12V coil works for 6V also.The relay sound is a bit awkward....never mind.

merry Christmas Paulusgnome
