Calculating the Diesel Consumation of 725KVA DG on Full Load ?

I do not have kg/kW-hr figure for 725 kVA to hand, so this will have to do!!! 725 kVA @ 0.8 power factor = 580 kW. Generator efficiency 95% makes 580/.95 = 610 kW engine shaft power. 610kW/0.746 = 818 horsepower (hp). 818 horsepower at 0.4 pounds per horsepower - hour = 327 pounds per hour. 327 pounds = 327/2.2 kg = 149 kg. Density of diesel 0.9 kg per litre, hence 149 kg = 149/0.9 litres. You can change for actual power factor, efficiency, density figures. Other post has lost a zero somewhere!

To provide a more meaningful answer to your "question", it would be helpful to know the following;

The make of Generator especially the Motor.

The motors configuration, is it Intrinsically Safe, or derated in any way.

Is the full load perpetual? If that is the case then the Generator is under specced for the job and you will have other costs to contend with as well as the fuel.

There is a thumb-rule which gives the consumption .You can multply the

KVA rating by 0.2 and you will get the fuel consumption.This is fairly good with

in practise.

Do you mean in litres per hour?? Clear communication needs units of measurement!!

Simple. Take the interval between tank refills and divide it into the quantity delivered.
