Relay Solution - 12V Relay Working Under 5V Supply

12/22/2010 8:53 AM

I need a relay rated 5V but i could only get a relay rated as 12V. Can anyone give a solution to make the coil of 12V relay work under 5V supply. I hope its possible with some circuit configuration.

How about adding a 7V supply circuit configuration.

Small 5V to 12V dc-dc converter supply modules are readily available. E.g., Mouser sells Murata modules for about $8 each.
