Selecting Material and Hardening Process for Steel

12/30/2010 3:20 AM

I wanted to select material and hardening process for steel.Application is Cranes and excavtors pins and bush.As these are under high shocks and wear resisting properties.Which material should i take for pin and bush .Also hardening process for both?

We use EN 19 for Pin and EN 353 for bush .For pin induction hardening 45-50 HRC.And for Bush Case hardening 50-55 HRC .Is this correct?

This is a job for a professional engineer to study the loads and designs and necessary safety factors.

No free guesses from me.
