Small Bore Gaps for Sockets

Talking about small bore sockets: Which is the minimun and maximun gap for expansion between the fitting and the insert pipe?.

I´m using my own acceptance criteria, minimum:1mm and Max: 1/3 of the Depth of the fitting hole. I do not find any reference in codes or procedure.

Another problem is how to messure this gap on a radiographic film?

Socket gaps are clearly defined in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Have you looked there? Also, NavSea 250-1500-1 describes it as well. Do you have access to either of those?
