New Year's Resolutions??? (Modified)
Is there too much government?: not talking socialism, talking
business. How many people running our government have business degrees? Better
yet, how many successfully run a business, not "ran" a business. Times are
changing, business is changing. Show me a business that isn't changing and I
will show you a company that is going out of business, period, exclamation.
With that said, who cares if they have run a business or not, the point of our
government isn't to run business. I was just making the point that not
enough are qualified, but are still
making business decisions.
Now tax cuts, that's something our government can do. Tax
rebates hit the economy immediately. Now, infrastructure is a role that needs
to be addressed by government. What
happened to that? Jobs, workers with disposable income, and something to show
for it. . . INFRASTRUCTURE. . . not fat wall street cats getting fatter. . .
and yes, say all you want about Warren Buffet, he took the governments money
with inside information about the bailout of Goldman Sachs, but no one cares,
except maybe Martha Stewart, who is rumored to be mumbling "WTF", everywhere she
goes.
The problems we are creating for ourselves with China are
systemic: ps- them funding our debt is a joke, not an issue. The issue is what
we are wasting our money on, not who is paying for it. You have been fooled by the media if you think that is the issue.
Along the same note, bailing out the banking system was key.
I don't agree how it was done, but it had to be done.
I don't know how the system changes, but I don't shop at
Walmart, I go out of my way to not buy goods from China, and I don't
drive a
truck or an SUV. Never forget, our problems began when a major input,
gas, went
up (don't get hung up on details of credit drying up, yackity, smackity,
this that, disposable income went overseas: enough said). Stop driving
your SUV's and trucks, start carpooling and using public
transportation, buy local, and get off your fat asses and bike somewhere
once in awhile. If you
are still complaining about the state of affairs, please re-read the
above. Now, be the change you want to see, and stop waiting for
someone to do it for you, and stop
blaming "The Man" you are "The Man." Questions AND Comments are always
welcome!
My New Year's Resolution is to take ownership of what I can, inspire
those who can, and encourage those who don't see how a little goes a
long way and that change starts from within.
Happy New Year!
