Spring Loaded Dial Calipers

03/26/2007 8:59 AM

Hello All,

I am looking for a manufacturer of a small, pocket sized , dial type caliper that measures twine diameters. This device would be particularly specialized for the netting , twine, possibly wire industry.

It has a springloaded device that when pinched, opens up enough to slide in the twine. When released, it shuts itself and measures the twine. It opens from 00.001" to 1.000".

The entire device can easily fit in the palm of your hand.

Any ideas who sells this ?

I'm not sure where you would get the kind of caliper you're describing. I did a search on Globalspec for calipers and there was a list of 144 companies.

Here is the link to the list of caliper companies.

I'm sure one of them could help you find the caliper you're looking for.

Mitutoyo offers a variety of gauges as you discribed, however, they are listed as thickness gages. Try going to mitutoyo.com and do a product search for thickness gage.

Thank you.

In our business of net design and fabrication we are finding less and less "tools" to work with. Thank you for the heads up on this.
