A material with a fractured surface that leaves a grey appearance on a piece of paper when it is rubbed with the paper is probably a) White Cast Iron b) Gray Cast Iron c) Carbon Steel d) Nickel Chromium Iron e) Any of the above PLEASE TELL ME THE CORRECT ANSWER.................

Who are these people rubbing paper on bits of metal anyway? That seems a pretty stupid hobby. Is this being done by people you konw? Like a club or maybe a gang?

Don't you realize this is a gateway drug kind of thing? First you start with paper and iron. Then it's emory cloth and titanium. And before you know it, you're hooked and stealing - or worse - to support your sandpaper and ceramics habbit!

Get out while you can!

The answer is ……..

Look at the properties of the metals.

The white paper is a bit of a red hearing, the fracture would cut the paper to shreds.

i) Cargonite.

It's a little known grey semi-metallic liquid that is a solid at room temperature.

Often confused with Kryptonite, it produces a grey appearance on paper and when held up to sunlight turns red.
