Although the construction of your sentence would indicate that it is interrogative, the punctuation seems to indicate that it is declarative.

Have you an explanation for this?

What are the problems you refer to ?

lead in petrol is there to retard the point of ignition thus enabling the use of high compression engines.

Well, we don't have any choice here.

There is no lead in any of our 'motor spirits'.

The 'octane rating's are, low; about 93RON and then 95RON with 98RON being the highest from the pump. AvGas is now unlawful in roadgoing vehicles.

I've had cars in the past which would not run properly except on AvGas (130 octane). Super high compression, and using carbs to supply fuel.

The only other pump-available 'spirit' is E 10 which is a mixture of petrol and 10% ethanol. Hardly worth the trouble, really. But there you go, it's available to ease 'green' consciences.

Something like E 85 or pure ethanol would be a different thing entirely.

BTW, what are your 'problems'?

Cheers,

Stu.
