..That's right.. I want to rewire some MP3 players. (again)
I've been seeing a trend towards touch screens on even the least expensive MP3 players..
For me? I like buttons.. Big buttons .. Like the kind you would find on a video game console.. Big buttons are very handy for the young and old.. the nostalgic.. as well as people with big fingers or regular sized fingers wearing gloves... anyhow..
I would like an MP3 player that is easy to open so I can rewire all of the function buttons (power/track/volume/menu.. etc).. (multi-functioning buttons are not preferred and jog/dials are not useful either)
Obviously I want to use larger buttons in a larger case.
My trouble isn't soldering tiny connections, button selection, or knowledge of MP3 players..? It's finding MP3 players!
Simple controls are vanishing.. At best there are players with sub miniature surface mount switches in wafer thin cases!
..It's more difficult than ever to select a candidate!
I'm aware of some 'kids mp3 players' on the market, but they all seem to have very limited memory and poor sound quality.
For myself, the display screen is not very important.. large or small?.. color or monochromatic?.. as long as there is some info.. ...I don't want to build a glorified shuffle if you know what I mean..
thanks for any advice!
