	It is used to detect the surges in power systems. It continously samples and compare the zero crossing of phase voltage in each cycle (Sine wave) and in case of any surges, the zero crossing time may differ + or - . If the difference, say for example, 5 degrees in set time of 10ms, the relay will trip instantaneously. This relay will operate only when certain value of voltage is present. For example, you can inhibit the operation of the relay if the voltage drops below 15% of rated voltage input to relay fom the line VT. -Vijay __________________ You don't understand anything until you learn it more than one way.
