I don't believe this is possible directly as the charging circuitry for cell phones is not designed to feed power out. You could swap the batteries, or use a cellphone portable battery recharger (a specially designed product containing a rechargeable battery designed to recharge or augment the cellphone's battery when a plug-in power source is not abvailable).

eg.

http://www.sourcinggate.com/pocket-emergency-cell-phone-battery-charger-kit-for-cell-phone---p-2020.html

etc

What exactly is the application?

I am interested in the charge transformation from one mobile to other & not by externally rechargable AAA cells. i want to charge the battery of a mobile phone via another phone which has some extra battery back-up. Yes i realize your point of saying that you can charge by portable charging techniques available. but i just want to develop the application on how to transfer the charge with the help of any external device like CCD.

What do you mean by "CCD". What you are asking to do will not be possible if the phone does not have some necessary hardware to allow for this. There is no external device or application that would make up for hardware that has never been designed into the phone.

You may (perhaps) be able to do it if the phone or similar device has an output port (for example a data port) you can use to power a separate custom-designed and built power supply containing a voltage boosting and capacitor storage system on the input along with the necessary charging circuitry on the output side to charge the second phone or similar device.

Think of it along the lines of using a computer's USB port to power or recharge a device but much harder as you are using an even lower current data port (think serial port instead). As a rough estimation based on previous work I have done on the subject the custom external power supply will probably be more expensive and much larger that the two devices you are trying to transfer charge between.

Building an external battery charger that uses the battery of one device as the power source to charge a second battery adds other problems.

This possible solution is academic however as it is just too complicated, inefficient and limited for a practical application let alone a commercial device (the power supply would need to be custom designed to work with a small range of phones).

May make an interesting University project however.

rohitcool8,

You'll just end up with two phones that don't work.

For now it does not exist but am working on it. It will be in form of an app that can send charges from one cell phone to another.. It is practicable
