Where can I buy, or how can I build on the cheap, an RC curcuit to remotly fire a small electric solenoid? The range only needs to be a hundred to two hundred feet so 2.4Ghz should work fine.
The wireless doorbells and garage door openers that you can buy at the hardware store are often utilized by insurgents in Iraq for just such purposes. Another alternative would be to use a cell phone - tapping into the circuit that drives the vibrator.
