	dear all; i am a mech engineer at entry level. i am facing problem while surfing welding electrode for astm metals. for example i have to cary out weling of plates astm a242? who can i be able to select that which electrode will be used? what is the selection criteria for the electrode selection. is there any thumb rule??

	American Welding Society: electrode selection. Or: New AWS Specs - Electrode Selection-- MWSCO Tech Support You can save everyone lots of time by performing a simple search before bringing these elementary questions to the forum.
