Design Vacuum = 5 mbar

01/26/2011 2:42 AM

In my client Mechanical data sheet design vacuum is not given but in my previous calculation all are consider 5 mbar for calculation.

my question is,

why we are considering design vacuum = 5 mbar in storage tank design.

how much important as per design point of view.

To answer one of PWSlack's questions in earlier thread, for a storage tank it will be 50mbar vacuum, not 50mbar absolute. Latter would be way OTT.
