Where in IEC 60601-1 Does It Say That a System Needs a Display?

01/27/2011 12:46 PM

Friends and Colleagues,

I have recently started work in a company that produces RF Generators for surgery, and I'm trying to find where is the requirement for a display that is used for Power readout. All I know is that it's somewhere in IEC 60601-1. Can someone help me?

Thank you,

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't that spec in a machine-readable form (e.g. .PDF file)?

I would think a search term like "display" or "read" or "view" would find the applicable section.

Thank you Rufus, that is true, however the 60601-1 version we have if a bit map, not a text document, so the search feature doesn't work. Already tried and failed.

That *would* make searching it a bit tougher...
