Woodward 2301A Droop Problem

Woodward 2301A droop problem

We have 5 genset cat-399 / with cato gen. and woodward 2301A load sharing & speed control. They work in isoch mode on common bus

When engine switch is in position load and gen. breaker switch on we have 24Vdc on terminal 14.( isoch. work )

I was rotate droop pot. on woodward 2301A in CW position but KW-s on the generator was droop to minimum. When I was rotate in oposite side CCW KW-s are coming back.

Why Droop pot. change KW if our set work in isoch. mode?

Please tell me best position of droop pot. if set work in isoch. and how we can adjust KW sharing properly?

Regard

Zeljko

Your text (english) very bad to understand exactly:

What is isoch ?

In any case: Droop pot is to adjust how much the engine will share in the required load. This is used to enable synchronising several genset and make them share the load correctly. Therefore, if you manipulate the pot, you change the amount of kW that particular genset is delivering.

How to set: You need to follow the instructions that come with the Governor installed. Therefore, you need to understand the topic and the Language reasonably well. At best, an expert is required in your case unless you want to take a risk.

Put the woodword in load sharing mode , rather in isochronous. Adjust the govornor to share load it is capable of.
