Most importantly.........until you get it figured out, while out on the shop floor, act like you know what you're doing. Show no weakness. ( But, don't put anyone at risk of getting hurt).
Hopefully you're off for the weekend. Do some intense studying, figure out what method will work best for you, and start putting it into practice on Monday.
Your graphs can be done with a pencil on graph paper.

Having been dropped in to a production management position I had to sort out the mess I inherited. First item was to sort the work teams to work in a coherent manor. This entailed appointing "line leaders", this alone caused problems due to resentment. "I was new to the job how could I decide who was best" I chose the people that helped me the most. I wasn't sure what was going on half the time, but my chosen people did and helped me. They each developed their teams to the point that they were almost doggedly loyal to each other, even I couldn't find out what had gone on at times and I was supposed to be in charge! This lead to a situation where the lines near ran them selves, only needing me for the menial clerical side of the department. I was redundant through my own actions!
