Recognizeable Qualification in America and Canada

HI people, I am currently qualified with City and Guilds in the field of electrical and electronic engineering and I would like to know if these qualifications(City and Guilds) would be recognize in America mostly New York or Canada to gain myself a good job in the field of electrical works. You don't say what level but it doesn't matter, there are too many hurdles in the way, even for the well qualified. I came with an ONC. decades ago, when it was easier to get a visa and I passed the exams to become a Professional Engineer.
