First convert BTU to KW, using 1 BTU = 1/(3.41x1000) KW

Then convert KW to HP, using 1 HP = 1/(0.764) KW

26,500 BTU = 7.77 KW = 10.42 HP (in terms of capacity)

Maybe the power consumption of the air conditioner is 2.5 HP

Seems like a typing mistake:

true is: 1 HP= 0.746 KW.
