Are you interested in what the manufactured cost is per spoon, or in setting up a manufacturing facility??

Plastic spoons are typically manufactured using injection molding technique...If you are buying, your quantity will determine your price per item...If you want to manufacture, I would outsource(see link)...

I think it is quite an interesting question. I heard that cheap spoons were made from 18-8 stainless steel. I have no idea of the kind of plastic materials that are typically use for plastic spoons. I think it is really a pity that many manufactured materials do not always tell the kind of materials they are made of. I would like to know if the difference in price of plastic spoons is really adventagous versus this from metallic material.

My guess would be polystyrene. Cheap and easy to mould.
