Protection Relay Specification

02/08/2011 10:39 PM

Is it possible for anyone to provide me some kind of specification for the following:-

1) Motor protection relay with locked rotor feature (50, 50n, 46, 49, 50L/R)

2) 87 differential protection relay

3) 86 tripping relay

4) 95 trip circuit supervision relay

5) 27,2 under-voltage relay with timer

It can be either electromechanical or numerical based relay spec.

Please visit sites of Siemens, ABB, Areva and get the catalogs for those relays. These catalogs give lot of technical information.

Nanri! Ramvinod!

I have seen these sites. But it is very overwhelming. Very time-consuming to find any specific info. If you can send direct links, I will be very grateful. Otherwise I will spend some time.

Thank you!

Please do some digging for yourself. We have to to get the information. Besides, if you don't know how to write the specs, how will you ever make sure that the installation complies?

I think this forum is to help people avoid wasting time "re-inventing wheel", isn't it?

Generally, there is a trend of specifying only the relay parameters & indicating the same in the SLD with a brief reference in the switchboard spec.

However, I want to make very explicit spec on numeric relays & hence the help saught.

just search in motor protection relays division if u r searching in any website. bcoz all the numerical motor protection has all the features which u have mentioned. Maybe u can try REM eries of ABB, P2xx series of areva, 7SK80x series of siemens.

Thanks to all feedback!

I have found the following:-

1) Motor protection relay with locked rotor feature (50, 50n, 46, 49, 50L/R) : Siemens make Numerical 7SG17 relay

2) 87 differential protection relay : Siemens make Numerical 7SG12 relay.

3) 86 tripping relay : Areva make electromagnetic VAJH13 relay.

4) 95 trip circuit supervision relay : This is in built feature of Siemens make Numerical relays. Bur for separate electromagnetic relay, Areva make VAX31 can be used.

5) 27,2 under-voltage relay with timer : Siemens make Numerical 7SR12 relay.
