02/11/2011 1:47 PM

Hi all

I have a problem. My rear window defroster is broken.

the only idea I have was soldering but that won't work because it heat up to defrosted the window and it would melt.

Would brazing work?

Can you halp me out be give me some ideas of what to do.

Google window defroster repair. Your local auto parts house will have a kit. They use conductive adhesive.

There are 2 types of repair kits that I am aware of. One is for the repair of the grids that run across the window glass. the other is designed for reattaching the connector wire to the glass. Both are available from NAPA stores. I believe they are manufactured by Permatex. Good luck.

I dont think you can repair it

brazing will will be too hot and break the window

conductive paint in my experience doesnt last

you could try glueing a new connecter onto the good part using conductive glue

google " Conductive Glue"
