how can we find out KVAR requirement to design a APFC panel even if we have all the data like KW and DPF Already Installed capacity

Connect a data logger or power analyser for the duration of working hours and record KW, kVAR, pf,harmonics etc. The max value of kVAR should be provided by the bank. From the client get kW of motors operating simultaneously to decide steps of capacitor(VAR). if you are not sure give the results in graphical form to a cap bank manufacturer and ask for a quotation including harmonic filters if necessary.

Capacitor kVAR required = kW (tan phi 1 - tan phi 2),

where,

kW = Connected load in kW

phi 1 = Power Factor angle of existing power factor (Cos inverse of existing pf)

phi 2 = Power Factor angle of desired power factor (Cos inverse of target pf)

Thanks. I made a mistake. To know pf required an economic study should be done. If overcorrected it will not be economical

O people I am catching a mistake in here. Heheheheheh......

Your equation needing Maximum Demand Load rather than T.C.Load. However, when DF =1, mathmatical value of TCL=MDL, but theoritical equation remain to be with MDL?
